But it is still not possible to turn it off on IntelliJ products, right?

2 or 3 weeks ago I decided to learn Rust. I found an old version of RustRover (early 2024) on my machine, so I used that, and it was fine. Then I switched to my laptop, on which I installed the latest version. As I typed the tutorial code, it just kept pre-typing every line for me as it's in the Rust book, despite the fact that I disagreed and disabled all AI related options, since I wanted to learn, instead of watching a robot... so I stopped using my laptop for this. And I'm happy that I didn't update my desktop.

You have to enable it to use. There is also the local full line completion and that you can disable in settings

"While we are focused on an extension for Visual Studio Code right now, you are free to install our extension in other editors that are compatible with Visual Studio Code. We don’t impose any restrictions on such usage."

you can download the .vsix and use you favorite fork.
