Ask HN: Best Country to Move To?

In a changing world, we don't always know what the future has in store. If you could pick anywhere in the world to move to (to live), and relocate there tomorrow - where would you go, and why?

I lived outside my birth country for 15 years and consider it overall a good experience of expanding horizons. The world changes fast tho and there are many good places, and cities (even outside of cities) coming up that provide everything you need. It depends on you tho.

I think you need to provide more details, to elicit a good answer.

e.g. what's your priorities list? e.g.

- Climate

- Healthcare system

- Good education systems

- Tax friendly (up to 30%)

- Not too isolated (like New Zealand)

- Good culture / vibe

- a local language / culture that doesn't make me feel like an immigrant / outsider

etc.

You're right - I should have been more clear! But I'm not seeking someone to provide me an answer for me. I'm seeking to know what other people think, to inform me as to the ways how other people think about this - to inform my way of thinking about it. So I can form my own answer for me. Hmmm...how to phrase?

But generally I think your priority list has a very good shape! So let's say those were your prios - where would you go?

Yeah, this is a wildly subjective question.

For every person who would love to spend their day sitting on the beach, there's a person who would rather sit on a porch and watch the snow falling.

For every person who wants to live near-off-grid in the mountains, there's a person who would feel intensely lonely living outside of a metropolis of less than 5 million people.

A country that's otherwise a perfect fit might be stricken off the list because the person is gay, or a woman, or have a particular skin color or religion.
