Ass-hattery. How about coal plants provide power when the generators are down? Gas plants when the pipeline is interrupted?

Texas is going to ride oil and gas all the way into the ground. When your enemy is making a mistake, let them.

except I live here and have to suffer for their incompetence.

I am not unsympathetic. I will come in person to help you move if you decide to move to a better state. I will help you find another job if that is what is holding you to the state. Let me know. As long as voters continue voting for these representatives who champion this flavor of policy, change is not possible (mental models are rigid, voters are, broadly speaking, low information and vibe driven, and so on). Your only vote left that is meaningful is with your feet (considering time horizon and limited human lifespan). My profuse, genuine apologies for an unfavorable situation. I can help you, I cannot fix Texas.

(think in systems, focus on outcomes, be mindful of time horizons)
