Hello HN! I'm an indie developer and Ghiblio Net is my fifth web project. After working on it on and off for about a month, I'm excited to finally launch it.

This tool allows you to: - Generate images in Ghibli and 30+ other styles using text-to-image mode - Transform your photos (including multiple images) into Ghibli and other styles with image-to-image mode - Create beautiful artwork without any technical knowledge - the interface is designed to be intuitive for everyone

As an independent developer, every visit, piece of feedback, and share means a lot to me. I'd be incredibly grateful if you could try it out and share your thoughts, or simply give it an upvote if you find it interesting!

You created a site to specifically ape the art style of a studio whose creator has very famously critiqued such copycat tools as soulless?

Thank you for your comment and concern.

I'd like to clarify a few points about this project:

1. Ghiblio Net is not exclusively designed for Ghibli styles, but rather offers over 30 different artistic styles to choose from, with Ghibli being just one of them.

2. These style capabilities are actually based on ChatGPT 4o's existing drawing functions - I've simply created a more user-friendly interface to access these capabilities.

3. The website includes many non-studio creative and fun styles, aiming to provide users with diverse artistic expression options.

4. My intention was to let more people experience the joy of AI artistic creation, not to specifically replicate the work of any particular studio.

You want to talk to a lawyer. Not ChatGPT.

> Transform ordinary photos into dreamy Ghibli-style illustrations with one click, creating an authentic Ghibli experience for creators and fans

> Enter the Magical World of Ghibli

This is arguably false misrepresentation ("authentic"). You use Totoro as your favicon.

Legal aspects aside it's just disrespectful at best and misleading at worst.

> My intention was to let more people experience the joy of AI artistic creation, not to specifically replicate the work of any particular studio.

Your branding, UI, marketing and sample images all say otherwise. And you have the gall to charge for it. Your site gives piracy and copyright infringement a bad name. Strongly consider a rehaul.

Imagine that your site brings in a substantial number of customers and revenue; ask yourself, how would you explain to a court that your site's name, "Ghiblio.net", did not at all benefit by exploiting the trademark of "Ghibli"? Like, if you had named your site NintendoArt.net, is it not obvious how that would infringe on the Nintendo brand?

Thank you danso and other users for your valuable feedback. I have immediately taken action:

1. Changed the website icon, removing elements that might cause association 2. Modified inappropriate descriptions on the website

Regarding the domain name choice, I admit that when selecting "ghiblio.net," I considered the popularity of related keywords and AI's ability to generate this style, but didn't fully consider the potential brand confusion issues. This was an oversight on my part. Going forward, I will be more mindful of these matters, avoid potential infringement issues, and develop my own brand.
