Almost all American temu or AliExpress shopping videos on YT mention the price without shipping. Like oh this 0.2$ watch ($15 dollar shipping)

No idea why that is, but it's very misleading

$1,000 boat, $4,000 in shipping fees. Just buy some kayaks or a canoe or a used jonboat + trailer or pretty much any other solution here. I used to prowl on small ponds with an inflatable boat, lead-acid battery, and trolling motor for WAY less than this absurd price. It doesn't make any sense and its touching on prices for very good, used all-metal boats + trailers.

>I know this is where some people are going to go all “It’S NoT a $1,000 DoLlAr bOaT bEcAuSe YoU pAiD $5,000 fOr It!” on me. Well, the electric boat cost $1,080, which is what I paid to the factory. All the rest went to the container ship, the customs broker, taxes, US trucking, and other associated costs.

It looks like it’s effectively a fiberglass shell, with some seats added, and a motor?

$1k seems about right.

This looks like an ad.

The article mentions it cost 5x the list price; was almost a foot shorter than described; lists to one side; has uneven fiberglass and a cheap, inefficient propeller; reaches only 2 knots; and that the author doesn’t “think it’d be a safe” in “decent current”. Hell of an ad, if so.

It isn't. His video on his electric truck purchase was really fun, too.
