Show HN: I Built Tabtix: A POS and QR Ordering System for Hotels and Restaurants

I spent the last two years working in the hotel industry, from bellman to receptionist to maintenance. During that time, I saw the same issues repeatedly: outdated systems, chaotic room service orders, lost tips, and frustrated staff.

So I decided to build a solution.

Tabtix is my first full-stack project: a lightweight POS and QR ordering system for hotels and restaurants. It’s built to make operations smoother, not more complicated.

What It Does: Staff can take orders via tablet/phone POS

Guests scan a QR code to order from their room/table — no app needed

Orders go directly to the kitchen, bar, or cashier

Supports tips, split bills, and room-charge options

Managers track everything on one dashboard

Stack: Frontend: React + Tailwind

Backend: Laravel

Multi-language + multi-device ready

What’s Unique: Designed from real frontline experience, not just specs

No hardware dependency (even Android phones work)

Scales for small cafés to 5-star hotels

It goes live this week, and I already have 7 hotels in Egypt ready to onboard.

If you're building something similar, I’d love feedback or to connect. AMA.
