Started scanning my family albums… thought it’d be quick. Then I saw the mess: 3–4 photos per scan, all skewed and overlapping. I gave up real quick on manual cropping.
So I built NerdScan — a free, open-source AI tool to auto-detect and crop multiple photos from cluttered scans in seconds. Under the hood: GroundingDINO + 700 lines of Python for robustness, usability, and EXIF automation.
Try it out, share feedback, or file issues — I’m all ears.
