Show HN: A browser extension to curb bad habits using the 20-second rule
It applies the 20-second rule by adding a brief, intentional pause before loading a site you've marked as a distraction. Unlike a hard blocker, the goal isn't to prevent access but to enforce a conscious decision before you dive in.
The extension is free and has no ads. To see if it's actually effective, I collect a small amount of anonymous event data—like "install," "pause screen shown," and whether the user proceeded or closed the tab. No personal data, browsing history, or IP addresses are ever collected.
It's available for Chrome and Firefox (including Android). I'd love to hear your feedback on the idea.
