Show HN: Accurator – Nostalgic Gallery Cleaner

I made Accurator to help tame messy camera rolls by turning cleanup into a quick, nostalgic routine.

Just to say upfront: I know there are similar apps. I discovered that after building mine, which is, of course, kinda funny. I honestly didn’t check competitors — I just built what I wanted for myself. So no, I’m not “the first.” I plan to make Accurator the one that feels fast, minimal, and nice to use every day. Would love your feedback

What it does:

• Surfaces random photos from any year so you can make fast keep/delete decisions • One tap to keep, or add to a delete list, then batch-delete in one go • A safety net: review the list, restore anything, and when you confirm, iOS sends items to Recently Deleted (as the system allows) • Privacy — No server, no signup, no cloud, it works locally, photos never leave the device

Why I built it: auto-cleaners catch blurs/duplicates, but they can’t know what you no longer need. I wanted something minimal and fast that still feels personal.

What I’m adding next:

• Show file size per photo and the total space the delete list would free • Favorites screen to pin important shots and jump back to them • Maybe video support with a tiny inline player

Product Hunt launch is scheduled for September 8

Thanks for reading — happy to answer any technical or product questions, and I’d really appreciate your feedback on the UX, UI, performance, and overall feel—anything you’re up for sharing.
