Thinkspot Is Closing Down

I went to the homepage, saw a few political/econ essays from "literal whos" that failed to pique my interest, and then when I clicked on "start reading" to see what else they had, I was met with a paywall/authwall.

Not surprised it's closing down. Is there some value proposition for Thinkspot that I'm missing that differentiates it from Substack or Medium?

I think it had its own community that had high quality discussions, and often discussions you couldn’t have on Reddit or old Twitter due to moderation. With Twitter having more free speech friendly policies now, the value of an alternate community is lower. But this is just what I’ve heard - I never used it.
