Mistakes can occur. I worked on a large software project that came very close to shipping a release with a significant portion of vendor licenses, such as curl, missing. A developer had made a change to the build step that collected the licensing. During testing, the licensing command displayed as a “wall of text”, and QA didn’t notice that it was only one-third of its normal length. I was simply looking for something and noticed the missing licensing attributes.
In my opinion, especially if you weren’t involved in the original import of the vendor software or libraries, this is something that’s easily overlooked.

As others have mentioned, I doubt there's any kind of malice involved here. Digital Extremes are usually pretty good when it comes to community engagement and would more than likely rectify this and apologise if contacted. A GitHub issue shaming them helps no one.

I actually just posted it to HN, because of the likelihood someone here is in DE's circles and can help point it out. (I think some of their devs chime in here, now and then.)
Contacting them directly on this has happened. But with silence, because it hasn't actually reached the right people.
(I didn't make the GitHub discussion.)

if anybody would like to actually contact DE to mention this, it would likely be more fruitful, or at least revealing to see a response to the issue.

Where can I give feedback on the game?
