Founder here. HN has been circling commercial real estate all year—maturity walls, sticky vacancies, RTO whiplash, “why do prices stay high with empty floors,” failed office-to-resi conversions, bank exposure. I’m building maison.work to work on the boring-but-critical part: actually matching good tenants with the right office/retail/industrial spaces, faster and with less noise.

We’re currently focused on Europe, starting in Switzerland. Commercial-only. The aim is fewer tire-kickers and more qualified conversations for owners, asset managers, and brokers; and for tenants, clear, decision-grade info (layout, access, utilities, fit-out status, timing) instead of vague brochures and phone tag.

What feels different in our approach: purpose-built for CRE (not a residential site with a “commercial” tab), transparent listing performance so owners can see what’s working, and a product surface that plays nicely with existing workflows (CRMs, 360°/floor plans, data export), rather than forcing yet another system.

Why post on HN: I’d love feedback from people who remember the 42Floors/Hightower era, folks in proptech/data, and anyone with battle scars from leasing or asset management. What would make you switch from email/phone/spreadsheets to a purpose-built tool? Which signals should drive ranking? How would you tackle duplicate/fake listings? Any “don’t make this mistake” advice from your market?

Where we are: live in Switzerland, expanding to more European markets. Browsing is open; listing is paid and month-to-month. If this resonates, happy to share metrics, our ranking signals, and roadmap details in the comments. Contact’s in my profile. or remo@maison.work #thehouseofwork
