I recently tried out the new version of Popshort.ai, and it’s doing something I haven’t really seen before — you feed it a text prompt, and it generates a short video or microfilm. It’s kind of like Midjourney or ChatGPT, but for cinematic content. You describe a scene, character, or vibe, and it outputs a short, stylized film built around your input. Some things I liked: You can write a full scene or just a one-liner like “a lonely robot searching for meaning on Mars” The output isn’t just stock clips — it stitches together shots with pacing, mood, and sometimes dialogue You can edit the script, regenerate, or adjust tone/style (sci-fi, noir, romantic, surreal, etc.) The final video is formatted for Shorts/Reels but feels more like an art film It still feels a bit experimental, but for anyone exploring AI + storytelling, this is a fun tool to play with. I could see indie creators using it for concept development, visual storytelling, or just testing weird narrative ideas without needing gear or a crew. Curious if anyone else is trying generative video tools — would love to compare notes.
