This was always the law. There was a 1970s-era Supreme Court case that made this clear.

Kind of a misleading title. Even the Fox News article did better than this site. What was actually ruled is that the burden of proof required to show discrimination is not greater for the majority than it is for the minority. Considering it was a unanimous decision, it seems like a quite sensible decision that the burden of proof be the same for all parties.

That’s NOT what that ruling was.
The ruling said that when litigating a discrimination case the burden of proof to prove discrimination should be the same for everyone.
The case itself now goes back to the courts to proceed.
