Impressively long support. OpenBSD dropped support for i486 in 6.8, a bit under 5 years before Linux did (Oct 18, 2020). This happened when it was decided to ensure 64-bit atomics were always available.

Is it common for os vendors to support 18 year old dead hardware when it has no financial incentive to do so?
