As the author says, this comes a week after the New York Times and tens of other media outlets posted pictures of a child with the genetic disorder as evidence of starvation in Gaza: https://www.wsj.com/opinion/gaza-starvation-photos-tell-a-th.... I doubt this man will receive the same coverage.

He already has. Hostages definitely won't receive proportional news coverage to Gaza residents because they proportionally suffer hundreds of times less. His story isn't the one that the IDF is trying to suppress, it's the one they're trying to exacerbate to justify widespread suffering.

It's very hard to rally behind Israel's support for the hostages when they simultaneously kill their own soldiers and reservists who are in danger of being captured. Poor guy is lucky they never called in a Hannibal Directive on him.
