The Brevard County sheriff's threatening death to folks[1] was hard to believe — even for cops, and even for Florida.

I did get a chuckle, though, out of his promise to run down people who flee: if doughnut boy tried to do a 50m shuttle run, Brevard County would be in the market for a new sheriff.

I don't mind that my comment above got downvoted right after I posted it.

Just came back to point out that, after noting the sheriff's insane comments, we've now had what appears to be a targeted political assassination of Democrat legislators in Minnesota.

True, it's not Florida, but the extreme right-wing views behind the threats of violence of LEOs (of all people) and the actual violence of the assassin are the same.

There is only "right". The only degrees beyond that are willingness to personally take part in the deplorable acts, and that's only kept at bay by social constructs surrounding the individual. They will all excuse the ones that partake, every time.
