Shepard Fairey just announced a new print called “DEI-TY,” which critiques recent political efforts to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in the U.S.

Fairey is best known for his Obey Giant campaign and the Obama “Hope” poster. His work often explores the intersection of propaganda, design, and civic messaging.

This new release continues that tradition. It might spark discussion around the role of visual culture in public discourse and how artists respond to policy shifts.

Curious what others here think: Can politically charged art still move the needle, or has its impact faded?

The current situation, IMO, is a culmination of decades of pushback against civil rights, as if the Civil War just went underground and resurfaced.

I read that a big "No Kings" day is planned for June 14. People have been creating their own clever protest signs, and I expect more.

Given the magnitude of the situation, I'd like to see (hear) new songs supporting democracy, the constitution, equality, respect for, and equity for all.
