Don’t know about brain wiring re noise, but severe hearing loss doesn’t do well in such an environment either. Even when fitted with proper hearing aids, noise wins. Things can be adjusted to focus on one’s immediate vicinity but it’s nowhere as good as unassisted hearing. One of the many reasons to be careful turning it up to 11.

Avoid server rooms. At least big iron is only in museums.
