Good news for the SB Workers United union (~570 stores, ~11,000 workers).

The McDonalds in my city replaced human cashiers for touch screens and the experience is awful. The purchase flow feels like a maze, to make you add unnecessary items into your cart. And it takes 5 minutes to finish, while it took 30 seconds before, just talking to the cashier.

Also, it's disgusting to touch a screen that other people touched it before.

McDonalds made $14B in profit last year (2024). Food for thought.
