*First dissent by more than one governor. Both of them also indicated that they’d vote in favor of cutting rates so it’s not unexpected. Especially for Gov. Waller since he’s vying to be nominated to the chair after Powell.

I find it interesting that Trump releases market-tanking releases simultaneously with the Fed rate decisions. Today at exactly 2:30PM EST, he released 50% copper tariffs just as the FOMC was releasing their statement. I believe he wants the market to drop during Fed releases, as he's still trying to manufacture public outrage at Powell to justify his eventual removal, even though Powell appears to be the only adult in the room.
