I wonder what these people get once they are hired and show up at the office (or maybe they are remote)?
A laptop, a corner office, a team under them? A task to work on, free hands to do whatever?
How does meta organize this band of rock stars? Are they all working on the same project?

From what I’ve seen, these engineers typically have deep expertise building state-of-the-art AI models, leading groundbreaking research projects, or driving major advancements at labs like OpenAI or DeepMind. I think Meta might be assembling these rockstar hires into a special team—something like “Meta Superintelligence”—to push their AI capabilities to the next level.

You still need a lot of (non-obvious) organization to get the something of these pricey hires.
