Literally a relic from when you had to dip a pen in an ink-well. Let it die!
Let me guess, they are making cursive mandatory, but do not have a touch typing course.

Honestly I couldn’t agree more.
I think cursive should become more of hobby. Touch typing is so much more important. Wasn’t taught in any of my schools.
I learned touch typing myself and it completely changed my career trajectory and made me a better (digital) communicator/writer
I made https://www.typequicker.com for this reason - hoping to slowly grow it over time and try brining on institutional clients (schools, tutoring agencies, etc). I wish I was forced to learn touch typing earlier on in my life

I'm even probably being a bit "boomer" with that suggestion. Kids could probably benefit from a quick course in swype typing when it comes to data entry productivity in the modern world. Which makes handwritten cursive even more absurd.
I agree it's sort of a cool hobby though. I could see it having a few days dedicated to it in an art class, or maybe in an elective that covers typography.

They should really just replace this with touch typing instead lol
