what a disingenuous name lol.

i watched the entire thing yesterday, they repeated it like 4 times: you don't have to arrive here, you just head home yourself. the government will even pay for it. flagged.

Is flagging really appropriate? (not that I disagree with you otherwise.)

Probably. It's a very slanted headline, designed to push a political/ideological viewpoint.

Maybe instead of just calling it propaganda and moving on, you could provide us with more info about your viewpoint? The rest of us will wait on you as we watch the 1930s happen a 2nd time. We're watching concentration camps pop up, people losing citizenship and being put in concentration camps for their ideology, bigotry on a steeper rise than I've witnessed in my whole life. It's now socially acceptable to corner someone in a bathroom and make them expose their genitals to prove their sex. Nobody is safe anymore because of these shit-flinging fascists. You can't say it's not happening, we're seeing it first-hand.

> people ... being put in concentration camps for their ideology

Citation needed.

> It's now socially acceptable to corner someone in a bathroom and make them expose their genitals to prove their sex.

Citation very much needed. That is not socially acceptable anywhere that I have been.

As for the larger issue... a camp to hold people who are subject to deportation is a "concentration camp" in a literal sense. But since WWII, it is not what is generally understood as a "concentration camp" - there is no mass death, no genocide. The headline is therefore designed to give an impression of "just like the Nazis" when the reality is quite different.

Personally, I consider it within the legitimate bounds of the federal government to deport those who do not have the legal right to be in the country. As for how it is being done... yeah, it's being done in the most stupid, brutal, offensive way possible. I don't deny it, and I don't justify it. But the government has the right to do it, in mass.

Do not read this as me justifying removing the legal right from those who already have it, still less removing citizenship from those that already have it. (Though, if they lied on their citizenship application to get it, I can see even that. Not for crimes, though. Citizens who commit crimes are jailed, not deported.)

So, yes, the situation is grim, and they're crossing red lines that are really wrong, and also the headline is seriously slanted and trying to make this look like a death camp, when it isn't.

Too bad everyone was too busy calling eachother names 15 years ago to actually fix the problem so this is the only viable solution.

Maybe we'll learn for next time?
