Did AI companies win a fight with authors? Technically

I was planning to do a very in-depth analysis of multiple shell interpreters, with tests, prose, tutorials, examples. Even bought the domain.

Now I know AI companies would likely steal it and not give attribution.

I'm not some big shot author, and I wasn't planning to earn money from this stuff. Just wanted to share my work (for free!). However, I want the attribution, it's the only thing I would get from it.

It makes no sense anymore. Why would I write something knowing that it will be stolen and repackaged?

I want to see the fields dry out now. People losing faith in writing new original stuff, to the point that only useless garbage remains as new training data. It's the only way, there's no reason with these companies.
