I once contributed to daytona and recently turned up at their website only to find out it is now "infrastructure for running ai-generated code. They used to be a tool that was used to construct development environment on remote machines. I found this incredible. I suppose there'd be stories out there about interesting ai pivots I'm yet to hear about.

What surprising pivots have you encountered? What were they doing and why was the pivot surprising?

Many years ago I used to work for a company where we were writing different kinds of SMS-sender malware (featuring not very dressed ladies), mostly for Android. Just a few weeks ago I got a bunch of LinkedIn notifications, from all my colleagues and boss from that company, saying that they have changed their name, and now they are in the business of AI-powered sport performance monitoring.
