Google Is Scamming Users with VEO 3, While Delivering VEO 2 Instead

VEO 3, the powerful video generation model, has been released by Google for use on its Gemini and Flow platforms. Now, when people search for VEO 3 on Google, they are directed to Gemini, which immediately shows the Pro and Ultra plans — and even in countries where the service is not available, it clearly displays the VEO 3 label.

If you click and proceed in such unsupported countries, you’re taken to another screen inviting you to continue with a single paid plan called Pro. At that point, the label “VEO 3” disappears and is replaced by something like “create videos with VEO.” Many people have gone ahead and subscribed, only to find out later that they’re actually being served VEO 2 — which is what’s used in all countries where VEO 3 isn’t supported.

A lot of people have already fallen for this, and when they ask for refunds, it seems many are told they’re not eligible, there is some thread on Reddit. To me, this looks like a major scam — even if it’s just the result of an oversight, I didn’t expect this level of disorganization from Google.
