Can anyone make sense of why such a product would do mass marketing? I’m somewhat baffled and would love to learn something today.

Are you sure it is mass marketing, and not targeted marketing?

I don't know the details of reddit ads, but other platforms let you target so narrowly you can almost put ads in front of specific people. This is one thing that all the data collection about users empowers - highly targeted ads.

How do you target a board member? Even so, is it worth discussing how products like this are typically marketed? It’s gotta be more intimate than Reddit ads.
