Show HN: Magellan – Query any Chrome webpage with AI [Open-Source]

Hey HN,

We just released our first open source project Magellan (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/magellan/ekkajebdac...), a Chrome extension that brings conversational AI to any web page you're browsing.

What it does:

  - Ask questions about the page you're on (e.g. “What are the key takeaways from this article?”)

  - Get answers with citations that link directly to the relevant parts of the page

  - Each tab has its own memory, so you can manage multiple chats at once

  - Currently works with Google Gemini API key, which is free to obtain

It’s fully free and privacy-first (your API key stays on chrome’s local storage).

This is our first open source project, and we’d greatly appreciate contributions, from feedback and bug reports to new features or refactors. We’ve added some issues and project docs to make it easy to jump in.
