I frequently see launches of these AI products, which are nothing more than the content spam engines platforms used to ban. It is funny to see this ecosystem being developed to do things many of these large platforms previously claimed where very naughty no-nos and bannable offenses. Yesterday's autoblogging and social media spam has become the darling of SV.

Another similarly laughable concept is that in lieu of actual users, many of these proposed hyperscaling projects will claim that other AI agents will make use of their slop. Circular reasoning abounds. The next step will be to spam their own products with other AI interactions to rationalize the existence of the entire ecosystem.

Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but I suspect that at a certain point a genuine human consumer needs to be served by all of this.

I do wonder if AI slop is finally the thing to break the addictive spell of these platforms, presumably built for human communication. There's only so many simulations of human creativity you can enjoy before you decide if there's something better out there to spend time on.
