I'm sympathetic to the plight of civilians in Gaza, but I also don't disagree with this choice by Microsoft in the sense that yeah that is a potentially appropriate response to what the employee did.

The employee must have known they would be at high risk of termination for such an action. Still it’s better than Hamas. Recently people in Gaza have been killed for protesting against Hamas.
