Ask HN: Tools to Check Crypto Wallets for Scam Exposure

A friend of mine recently sent funds to a crypto address that was later flagged as suspicious by their exchange. Fortunately, they were able to recover most of it, but it made me realize how difficult it can be to verify wallet addresses beforehand.

Are there tools or methods the HN community uses to screen crypto addresses for potential scam or fraud exposure? I found a tool called Satoshi Eye, but I haven’t seen much discussion about it. Curious if anyone here has experience with it or knows of better alternatives.

Looking for practical, reliable ways to do due diligence before sending funds.

Call me a cynic, but I feel manipulated when a brand new account posts a question mentioning a product posted on Show HN an hour prior, by a another new account, and the Show HN only has [dead] comments by brand new accounts.

Oh, and the vote count here looks inflated as well. Flagged.

Edit: oh, look, what a weird coincidence: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44049961
