Eh, it seems like there is a good chance they put their thumb on the scale for the publicity of Ewing in New York.

But the Knicks were still a last place team with him, and all the attention for the next 5 years was in Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit.

The team that got screwed the most ended up with a hall of fame player. And in the prior draft Jordan was the #3 pick. Does rigging the draft actually get you much?
