Claude Code usage limits using agentic coding

I just used Claude Code for a second day using my $20/month Pro plan - very happy! The agentic workflow, which didn't click with me using Windsurf or Amp previously, really worked its magic here.
But, to my surprise, I already hit the usage limit towards the end of the day. The application told me I had to wait an hour before continuing.
Is this how a service for $20/month is supposed to work? This is somewhat strange and disappointing.
To me, this is the sole reason I went local. I dont have limits. Get yourself 32gb of vram and you're going to be able to run good coder models without limits.
If you've got the $, go even more. Though obviously a $3000-10,000 setup is a pretty long roi.
The alternative, you go through openrouter and pay by the tokens. You never run out, but you pay for what you use and it's easy to change providers.
