So much study can bring to the point to not even see wood being in the middle of a forest. TO someone is even a goal.

I think there are layers and layers to our awareness and behavior. We can change every bit with persistence and habit building (training the animal) although the is a wild ravenous bear when conflicting them outright (try drastically changing your sleep schedule, geeze!)
It takes more time than we realize for meaningful change to “propagate between layers”. Self sabotaging plays into this. Behavior is a powerful change and best tuned with gentle yet firm persistence.
