I made an app to order like a local in Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Thoughts?

Hi! Despite learning Chinese for more than 3 years, one of the hardest things when going to Taiwan or Asia in general is ordering food. Sure, I know the basics, but when you are hit with characters you've never seen, preparation methods you have no clue about, and Google Translate wording that is completely whack - it's hard.

I got so tired of this that I decided to solve this problem for myself, and after a very positive reception on Reddit, I've decided to share Menu, please! with all of you.

How does it work, and why is it better than Google Translate?

Menu, please! takes you through the ordering process from start to finish:

- Step 1: Take a single photo (handwritten works as well). - Step 2: Get a detailed translation and description, including flavours, ingredients, and cultural context. - Step 3: Select the dishes directly in the application and create a full order in Japanese, Korean, or Chinese. - Step 4: Clarify details, preferences, or just chat with the staff using live translation.

This should allow you to explore the culinary world without needing to worry about not being able to communicate, understand the food or eat something that you were not prepared for. (I'm looking at you 田雞!)

How do I use it?

I usually translate the menu, listen to the items I want to order, and then double-check if I have ordered correctly using the order feature. I hope this helps you bring your ordering game to the next level!

I would love for you to try Menu, please!, and share your feedback with me! This web application is completely developed by me, so I'm always open to ideas on how to make this the best ordering / food-focused language learning app out there!

How to access it?

The app is completely free to use, available as a Web Application or PWA application, but the iOS version should be coming out soon and you can join the Android beta by writing to hello@menu-please.app

This is my first app, so I would love to hear your feedback and for you to give it a shot!
