Seems a reasonable idea, though couching it in "what could possibly go wrong" language ignores reality.

Isn’t “pull up and plug-in” what Tesla chargers already provide for Teslas? How is this any different?

This is ridiculous and unnecessary.
I can always pay cash or swipe a card at a gas pump, why not the same at an EV charger? This is something that doesn't need to be changed.

I prefer plugging my EV in and having my card on file charged automatically when the charging session completes. Only applies when traveling and using fast DC/Superchargers, as most of the time I charge at free home/residential or public level 2 chargers.
This is similar to how my toll transponder operates: depletes balance, dings card on file when drops below a certain balance. Can be used for tolls, parking lot payments, etc.
