'Welcome In.' The Greeting That's Taking over and Driving Shoppers Nuts

I haven't encountered that greeting yet. It sounds annoying, but doesn't top what a local fast food restaurant does at their drive-thrus. They start the interaction with "How are you today?"

I hate that so much that I've stopped going there.
