Building UI's that behave like video games

was watching an InfoQ video (2017) from an architecture engineer at Slack and he said Slack doesn't have loaders between screens because Slack was built with the same logic as a video game. Video games don't have loaders between scenes. I think in the age of AI this is a good thing to do

Game development is sometimes looked down upon by folks who make "serious" software, but you make an important point. No one can force someone to play a game. The customer has to want to do it, unlike work software your employer chooses. That sets a higher standard for UI.

Game UI also has to have easy discovery of features, controls, and game mechanics and games also have integrated tutorials which are themselves presented through game play. A game developer has to really care about the player at a level often not required of business software devs.
