Eschew flamebait. Avoid generic tangents. Omit internet tropes.

Please don't use Hacker News for political or ideological battle. It tramples curiosity.

This includes avoiding nationalistic attacks.

Stealing, stealing, stealing. I have been hearing this all of my long life - only the names get changed. I understand it's an emotional response, but don't let it cloud your judgement.

I don’t see anything else. Show me any “breakthrough”? I don’t care if Chinese or Vietnamese or Russians get ahead of US but I simply don’t see it. All they do just copy what is done in US , sometimes better mostly worse.

Artemisinin and dihydroartemisinin, malaria treatments researched exclusively in China by Tu Youyou are considered one of the most important developments in medicine and were good enough for her to qualify for the 2015 Nobel prize.

I could mention quite a few more on quantum computing, electric vehicles, cancer treatments, nuclear plants, etc.

It seems that you feel very strongly about China which is totally fine. Just remember that feelings are just that. And it’s likely that you will make bad judgements for anything outside of your personal experience if that’s the only thing you take into consideration.

It might be a good exercise to compare the current situation with the US and Japan on the 80s. Would you say you feel the same way about Japan?
